Couldn’t I just start a cooking school myself?There’s a good chance you could, although the facts are that 9 out of 10 businesses fail within the first year. We have developed tried and tested recipes, popular class structures and a business model that has been proven over seven years. As a Franchise Partner, you will have access to support and guidance across all areas of your business, including marketing, to ensure you maximise bookings sales and hit the ground running.

Local Advertising SpendMaintaining the flow of new customers to The Cooking School is one of the key activities to having a successful Franchise. Therefore, a minimum annual advertising spend is stipulated in the Franchise Agreement and is reviewed from time to time.

Will you provide more financial information?A closer look at The Cooking School's financials is provided later in the application process. We have provided some initial and ongoing fees as a guide in the meantime.

How long before I'm up and running in my franchise?We estimate from the time you sign the agreement to when you are ready for your first customers will be approximately two weeks

Who looks after advertising?The Cooking School approach is that you as the Franchise owner will control as much of the advertising as you can, however, within the guidelines and approval requirements discussed with The Cooking School Head Office. National advertising and marketing campaigns are organised through Head Office for efficiencies and cost advantages e.g. digital advertising (website, SEO, Google AdWords, Social Media).

How do territories work?Your territory is exclusive, meaning regardless of the number of other The Cooking School Franchises around you, you are the only Franchise Partner who can advertise and market in your area. This also means that advertising and targeting your market in the territory of another Franchise Partner is not allowed. Your Franchise Agreement lays out the exact boundaries of your territory, and this territory is protected from other Franchise Partner activities.

How long is the franchise agreement for?The term of agreement is the length of time the franchise agreement is granted for. The Cooking School term is an initial period of 5 years and 1 further term of 5 years (10 years total).

OUR STORY
Gabriele Emanuele embarked on his Cooking School journey when he moved to Australia from Italy 14 years ago.

He had a successful career back home, but his Italian diploma wasn’t recognised here. Determined to forge a new path, Gabriele retrained as a chef, and his journey led him to a remarkable opportunity at the Cooking School in 2010.
Gabriele discovered the school by attending a class, and it sparked something within him. Soon, he began working at the school, acquiring knowledge, and honing his skills in various culinary techniques. In 2015, Gabriele took over management of the school in the owner’s absence and then went on to purchase the business on his return a year later.
Already a successful consultant, this marked his second business venture, and The Cooking School, which had already established itself over 20 years of operation, now fell under Gabriele's leadership and vision.
Under Gabriele's guidance, The Cooking School has grown to new heights, expanding its offering to include children’s parties, virtual classes and recipes, and corporate workshops.
